Experience: When Father José Shendell arrived in Corinto, he found an old wooden church and took charge of building the new parish church of Saint Thomas the Apostle. The first church was built in 1876 and rebuilt in 1967. This modernist church was constructed in the second half of the 20th century. Its facade features a double-height central element with a cross, at the height of the second upper level, formed by glass blocks. The church is where the patron saint, the Holy Cross, is celebrated every May 3rd, but the festivities begin in late April with a series of activities such as a seafood fair and artistic performances, among others.
